Traffic was temporarily brought to a halt on Ivatt Way Business Park, when Radical’s machining arm, Amicon Engineering took delivery of a fourteen ton machining centre.

The Toyoda FH55S horizontal machining centre is equipped with a twin pallet, so that jobs can be machined and loaded simultaneously. The machine has been purchased to cope with increased demand for quality machined parts.

Amicon boss, Mick Reed was very pleased with his latest toy.  “This is an awesome machine.  It will considerably speed up the machining of the complex components and we can now machine components to an accuracy of 2 microns.  We will be one of the few companies in the country with this type of machine and we hope to attract sub-contract work, as well as providing Radical with an improved service.”
