Blue Marble Cocktails announced as title sponsor of 2018 Radical Cup North America

The 2018 Radical Cup North America races into action this weekend, with the opening round of this year’s calendar at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Texas hosting a packed 27-car grid. Blue Marble Cocktails, maker of all-natural, ultra-premium, ready-to-drink, pre-mixed cocktails, is the new title sponsor of the 2018 Radical Cup North America.

The Indianapolis company makes 12 ready-to-drink flavors including Screwdriver, Greyhound, Bloody Mary, Cosmo, Marble-Rita, Vodka Soda, Whiskey Cola, Mojito, Coconut Island, Long Island, Moscow Mule, and Cinnamon Toast. All Blue Marble Cocktails beverages are non-GMO, and feature ultra-premium distilled spirits, all-natural ingredients, no artificial sweeteners, dyes or preservatives, and come in environmentally friendly and recyclable packaging.

Blue Marble Cocktails aligned with the 2018 Radical Cup North America series due to a passion for racing and extreme sports held by the brand’s founder and planetary ambassador, Alan Miller.

“Blue Marble Cocktails is proud to support Radical and its mission to develop the world’s best high performance race cars,” notes Miller. “This is an excellent opportunity for us to introduce the Blue Marble Cocktails brand and our world-class beverages to a whole new audience in exciting event venues.”

“Radical Sportscars is delighted to announce Blue Marble Cocktails as the title sponsor of the Radical Cup North America series. This partnership further elevates the status of the championship and is another huge coup after announcing every round of the 2018 season will be run and sanctioned under Pirelli World Challenge,” said Tom Drewer, Regional Manager North America, Radical Sportscars Ltd (UK).

With the championship now officially running under World Challenge and USAC sanctioning, and with the backing of new global technical partners Hankook and Motul, the level of competition is set to get hotter than ever.

All three of the 2017 Class Champions have returned with Richard Thomas (WISKO Racing) and Antoine Comeau (Team Stradale) defending the SR3 1500 and 1340 classes respectively. 2017 Masters Class Champion Jesse Menzcer (One Motorsport) makes the switch to the 1500 class this year, so expect the class to be highly competitive – look out for championship runner-up Ethan Stone also returning for a re-match with Richard Thomas.

Young Norwegian sensation Theodor Olsen returns to the series and will be sharing an SR8 with a local, Texan Carlo Di Marco in the Masters Class, squaring up against rival Jim Booth. like Theodor, Booth will be racing in both the Radical Cup North America series, and its European counterpart, the Radical European Masters in 2018. Booth has both an RXC Spyder Turbo and SR8 at his disposal for COTA, and will field whichever he feels best suits the home of the American Grand Prix.

A number of brand new cars are being raced for the very first time at COTA this weekend. Dennis Cox's SR3 RSX 1500 arrived in the country last week, as did that of Canadian Cup racer Matt Graham. Indeed, a strong Canadian continent makes up the grid, with no less than six drivers representing the Commonwealth country.

New Texas dealer Moorespeed is running three cars, including the latest generation SR8 for Will Hardeman, who will be hoping for back-to-back wins after finding success in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA at the Sebring 12 Hour last weekend (Hardeman won Race 2 in the USA class). Moorespeed will also welcome Radical drivers and teams to their 5th Annual Race Welcome Party on Thursday 22nd March, held at the Moorespeed race shop in Austin – click here for information.
