COTA and NJMP confirmed, Barber pushed back a week

The Blue Marble Radical Cup series will make its maiden visit to New Jersey Motorsports Park in 2021, joining Indy Pro 2000 and USF2000 on August 27-29. Circuit of the Americas, July 16-18, has also been confirmed, ensuring the ever-popular Formula 1 venue remains a staple of the calendar.

While NJMP marks a return for Radical's multi-class Le Mans-style racing series to the Northeast after a two-year hiatus, it won’t be the first time the Radical Cup competes alongside the Road to Indy, with two events already scheduled in support of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES at Barber Motorsports Park and Road America.

As just announced by INDYCAR, the Barber event has been rescheduled from April 9-11 to April 16-18, giving teams an extra week to prepare for the season opener.

“With the addition of the Road to Indy weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park, we’re delighted to add another high-profile, action-packed event to the 2021 Radical Cup season,” commented Tom Drewer, Radical Sportscars Regional Manager, North America.

“I’ve been lucky enough to race a Radical SR3 around the 2.14-mile, 12-turn Thunderbolt circuit, and it’s a dream layout for a downforce car.

“Between Friday’s promoter test sessions and a full weekend schedule, competitors are going to have a staggering amount of track time, along with the ability to rub shoulders with the Road to Indy paddock. Thank you to Dan Andersen [of Road to Indy] and Brad Scott from NJMP for welcoming us onto the weekend.

“We’re particularly excited to bring the Blue Marble Radical Cup back to the Northeast, especially with the recent addition to our dealer network of Radical New York with Group-A Racing.

“And confirming a return to COTA in July was equally important. Not only is Austin the home to Radical Texas with Esses Racing and a large contingent of Radical racers, but the F1 circuit is a favorite amongst competitors and thus a must for the series.”

With a huge number of North American bound SR10s and SR3 XX currently being built and shipped from Radical’s Peterborough factory, expected record grids and two dates yet to be announced, anticipation continues to grow for the 2021 Blue Marble Radical Cup.

Drivers and crews can start preparing by applying for their annual credentials via SCCA Pro Racing. Registration for the series, which welcomes all Radical SR3 1340, SR3 1500, SR8, SR10, RXC and SPYDER models, will open soon.
