The series will then join PWC at Virginia International Raceway, April 27-29, and again at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, May 18-20.
“To be at COTA with thirty cars and the atmosphere of Pirelli World Challenge was a perfect way to send off 2017, and we’re equally delighted to commence our 2018 North American series in the same fashion,” commented Radical Regional Manager Tom Drewer.
“Even more exciting is that we’ll be joining PWC for the first three rounds of our six round North American championship. Being billed on these high-profile events is a huge coup for Radical, and we can’t wait for our drivers to showcase themselves in front of large spectator crowds– we know they’ll put on a great show.”
The Canadian Tire Motorsport Park date will also act as the first round of the Radical Canada Cup.
As in 2017 each round will consist of three 40-minute sprint races and the series is open to Radical SR3, SR8, SPYDER and RXC cars. The 2017 series attracted 45 competitors from across the United States along with drivers from Canada, Brazil, England and Norway. Along with multiple private entries, each of Radical's North American dealers also fielded teams.
Jesse Menczer (One Motorsport) won the Masters class championship (SR8). Richard Thomas (Wisko Racing) won his second consecutive 1500 title after a hard fought year long battle with Ethan Stone (One Motorsport). Antoine Comeau won the 1340 class championship, even though a broken wrist kept him from participating in the final rounds at COTA.
The full schedule, including two West Coast rounds, will be announced during the PRI Trade Show, Indianapolis, Dec 7-9. Radical will be at PRI with the first full presence for over a decade, showcasing its powertrain capability alongside information on its range of cars and championship.
