The full competition range will be on display, demonstrating the progressive ladder to accessible prototype sportscar racing through its ultra-competitive single-make racing championships operating across four continents.

The Peterborough company is lining up a raft of new initiatives to roll out during its anniversary year, starting with an overhaul of its entry-level SR1 Cup championship. Whilst keeping its proven five-year format of unrivalled track time, expert tuition and dedicated event support, the traditionally novice-only class is now open to all senior MSA licence holders. Add to that the arrival of the newly re-styled 175bhp high-downforce, lightweight RPE-Suzuki powered second generation SR1, an expanded six-round programme and unrivalled competition packages, grid sizes are set to soar in 2018.

Moving on from the SR1 Cup, drivers can climb the ranks to the Radical Challenge with the 225bhp SR3, the world’s best-selling racecar with over 1,100 in market, through to European-wide competition with the 405bhp SR8 and Radical Euro Masters Championship.

Registrations are open and provisional 2018 calendar available across Radical’s championship portfolio. Drop by the stand to find out more about the wide range of highly-competitive competition packages. Each include dedicated driver development, testing and event support, to suit novice racers, karting graduates and experienced drivers alike.

Speaking of karting graduates, Radical will be staging a special Karters Meet & Greet on-stand throughout Saturday. The first-time initiative will give karters looking to make the switch to sportscars the opportunity to get expert technical and driver development advice and sign up to an exclusive taster test day, driving the new Generation 2 SRI. Just visit stand 2670 for further details.

Autosport International 2018 will mark the first official engagement for SR1 Cup Shootout winner Ryan Harper-Ellam, a former multiple Junior TKM race winner. Ryan will share his roller-coaster experience to winning the inaugural Shootout competition on the Autosport Stage on Friday, as he looks ahead to his maiden season as a fully-funded Works Team driver. He’ll also be on the Radical stand to chat with aspiring sportscar racers across all four days.

Radical will also support TalkShop at Autosport International for the first time in January. James Pinkerton, Radical Engine Development Manager, will be talking about the evolution of Radical’s range of powertrain solutions, from motorcycle-derived beginnings through to the development of Radical’s own RP-V8 and on to modern, turbocharged EcoBoost engines. The 30-minute presentation, entitled ‘Technology in cost-effective prototype sportcar racing’ will take place on stand 8020 at 12pm on Saturday.

“Autosport International is the ideal platform for Radical to present its 2018 international racing calendars in our 21st year of trading,” said the company’s Sales & Marketing Director, Nigel Land. “In 2018, we will continue the success of the SR1 Cup Shootout, as a development programme for new and existing racers to enter the exciting world of prototype sportscar racing. Look out for announcements on the first of a number of new, global partnerships that will enhance the racing and trackday ownership experience for our drivers too.”
