Radical Sportscars France set to continue global expansion in record year

Leading British sports prototype racing car manufacturer, Radical Sportscars, has announced a strengthened representation in France, in an expanded partnership with Radical’s dealer for Switzerland, Acqua Rossa Motorsport.

Acqua Rossa Motorsport was appointed the official Radical dealer for Switzerland earlier this year, and the strengthening of the relationship signals an ongoing commitment to the European market by the Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, based manufacturer.

The creation of Radical Sportscars France follows the recent launch of Radical Australia East, Radical Benelux and Radical Romania this year, joining recent dealer recruitments in New York, Texas, New Zealand and Western Australia. The network is the most successful franchise in motorsport, with 32 dealers in 21 countries.

Located at a trackside facility at Circuit de Bresse, in the Saône-et-Loire department in eastern France, Acqua Rossa Motorsport currently supports over 20 Radicals, offering storage, maintenance and preparation, trackside support, spare parts supply, and new and used vehicle sales.

The business is focussed on promoting motorsport through the supply, rental and support of Radical sports racing cars, enabling French Radical enthusiasts to drive and race on the most renowned circuits Europe has to offer. Circuit de Bresse is located within an easy drive of Dijon Prenois, Magny-Cours and Paul-Ricard.

The announcement of Radical Sportscars France is set to rapidly enhance the representation of the Radical brand in the region, giving French track enthusiasts direct access to Radical’s famous range of sports racing cars, including the new turbocharged Radical SR10. The company has built and delivered more cars this year than in any previous year, putting Radical in a great place as it prepares to celebrate its 25-year anniversary in 2022.

Nikki Schumann, founder and director of Acqua Rossa Motorsport, is thrilled at the opportunity to work in a closer capacity with Radical Sportscars at such an exciting time.

“We joined the global Radical family in an official capacity in May when Acqua Rossa Motorsport was selected to represent the brand in Switzerland, and after some great early success, we’re delighted to now represent the brand across the whole of France.

“Our company has had a facility at the Circuit de Bresse in France since 2016, and we already count many French Radical drivers as our customers. The opportunity to supply them with the latest product, including SR3 XX and SR10, and offer them direct parts supply and technical support from the factory itself is thrilling for us, and we can bring our expertise and experience to a new market as well.

“We already have a Radical SR3 XX demonstrator available in France for test drives and hire at Circuit de Bresse and other tracks, and we encourage all prospective racers to book a drive. It really is something special.”

Radical Sportscars Global Sales Director Dan Redpath is pleased to enhance the working relationship, strengthening Radical’s representation in the region.

“Just a few months since joining our dealer network, Nikki and his team are already off to a great start in Switzerland and we’ve been very impressed at the passion and enthusiasm they’ve shown for our brand and our cars,” Redpath said.

“France holds a special place in the Radical story, which includes participation in five editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and to now have representation as Radical Sportscars France marks another significant turning point for us. In 2020 we enjoyed our most successful year yet with the introduction of two exciting new models, the SR3 XX and SR10, and in 2021 we’ve continued that success. The turbocharged Radical SR10, the most powerful SR-series Radical yet with 425bhp and 380lb-ft or torque, has become the fastest-selling model in Radical’s history, which puts us in a great place as we head into our 25th year in 2022.”

Radical Sportscars Sales Operations Manager, EMEA, Ian King, added, “Nikki, Mickaël, and his team have been brilliant Radical advocates for years, and we’ve been impressed with their efforts in the Swiss market this summer and the way they’ve represented the brand. We know that there is a lot of untapped potential in France, and we look forward to supporting Radical Sportscars France as they expand in this market and pursue their goal of organising the first single-make Radical Cup racing series in the region, replicating the Radical championships we see hosted by our dealers around the world.”

The British manufacturer, who will be celebrating its 25-year anniversary in 2022, has seen an overwhelming number of orders across a range of its models this year, and is on track to deliver a record number of cars in 2021. It continues to develop, design, engineer, manufacture and organise race series for all its models from its headquarters in Peterborough, UK, from where the vehicles are exported all over the world.
